Rolling Hills Chamber Music Festival

Thank you to all ICF members who submitted to our call for scores!

We are happy to announce the selected pieces that will be performed on August 8, 2026 (time TBA): 

• On Awareness by Daniel Swilley, WORLD PREMIERE

• Twist Your Sail and Trust the Wind by Denise Knaack, WORLD PREMIERE

• Underground by Philip Wharton, IOWA PREMIERE

• Stelae by Timothy Kramer [selected movements]

• Mimos by Warren Gooch

• Crash Against Me, You Will Find Something More by Peter Swanson

The festival concert will be at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and is devoted to works composed by members of the Iowa Composers Forum.

  • Flute: Kimberly Helton (Simpson College, DMSO, Des Moines Metro Opera)

  • Clarinet: Gregory Oakes (Iowa State, DMSO)

  • Violin: Jonathan Sturm (DMSO)

  • Piano: Nicholas Roth (Drake University)

Feedback:

No feedback will be given to composers who were not selected for the festival.

Attendance:

Selected composers are encouraged but not required to attend the performance of their work.
